Winter
Many of the fruit available in winter lends itself to poaching or long slow cooking – apples, pears, quince and rhubarb in particular.
Other fruit are known for their high Vitamin C content which is helpful around this time of year when you are most likely to catch a cold. Vitamin C rich fruit include oranges, mandarins, tangelos, lemons, grapefruit, strawberries and kiwi fruit
Root vegetables are at their best in winter and are just lovely when roasted but also delicious as mash, especially when you combine a few 🙂
