Gastric Surgery?
Golly, this is a tough one
Personally I don’t agree with cutting off most of your stomach to try to deal with over-eating or as a solution for weight loss – as it’s actually not really about the food!
However I do understand that anyone who has struggled with their weight for a long time and feels ‘out of control’ could see this as ‘the answer’ (which I assure you it is not)
My preference if you want to get surgery to manage your weight is to choose something that is reversable
Although not as popular with surgeons, the gastric band is a reversible procedure and I see it as a much better alternative to something that will permanently alter your normal body processes
Regardless of what you choose to do, please make sure that you realise that weight is a thought-related issue, not a food-related issue
And find someone who can help you in the area of Eating Psychology – don’t just rely on weight loss ‘experts’ or the latest diet (cause diets DON’T work)
