Do you really need to quit sugar to be healthy?
Of course not!!!
Just because something is unhealthy, it doesn’t mean we have to stop having it all together
What’s wrong with a healthy balance?
I’m tired of all those so called ‘nutrition experts’ on the internet who criticise or shame you for what you choose to eat
I am a dietitian and I am certainly not going to judge you for what you eat!
People sensationalise eating approaches and create lots of hype about what you should and shouldn’t be eating as this gets attention
It gets people talking and it SELLS STUFF – books, programs, etc – i.e. these people profit from it!!!
There are many Facebook posts, articles, books, etc. which use hyperbolic language to scare people into thinking they’re poisoning themselves if they eat sugar, but there is no science that proves sugar is toxic (or even a little bit harmful) when consumed by healthy people in moderate quantities.
Lots of things are ‘toxic’ when consumed in large amounts, including water. This doesn’t mean we need to stop drinking water! MBG
So stop listening to what somebody else tells YOU that you MUST eat to be healthy
You know your body best
Pay attention to how food affects YOUR body and mind…
And eat food that make you feel truly amazing 🙂
I love this quote from Mind Body Green:
Sugar may stimulate the pleasure centers in the brain, but so does petting kittens (and I don’t see anyone recommending a detox for that). Just because you enjoy something does not mean it’s terrible for you, you have to feel guilty about it, and stop doing it altogether.
Hear, hear 🙂
