The AVP of Leadership Effectiveness is a key executive role responsible for building impactful programs that enhance leadership capabilities across the enterprise. This exemplar leader will collaborate closely with the business and Human Resources (HR) leaders to create and refine programs across leadership development, succession planning, high-potential identification and development, assessment strategies, coaching initiatives, and transition efforts – the full talent lifecycle. You'll be a catalyst for growth, shaping the future of USAA’s leadership. The role requires building and leading a high performing team, ensuring continuous upskilling and leveraging technology, influencing senior business and HR leaders, creating a culture of belonging and high performance, architecting a comprehensive leadership development strategy, crafting leadership frameworks, managing strategic partnerships, developing initiatives that align people and business strategy, managing critical talent segments, delivering succession management momentum, leveraging external insights, innovating talent ecosystem, overseeing technology decisions, tracking effectiveness of leadership solutions, managing risks, forecasting and ensuring cost-effectiveness, and analyzing data-driven metrics. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 10 years of progressive experience in talent management or related HR functions, 6 years of people leadership experience, ability to influence C-Suite leaders, experience with stakeholder influence and technology solutions implementation. Preferred qualifications include experience in organizational transformation, succession planning at Fortune 500 companies, leadership development strategies, psychometric assessments, team building in HR, and military appreciation or experience. The position is based in San Antonio, TX or Charlotte, NC with a flexible work environment requiring presence in office 4 days per week. Relocation assistance is available.
