We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Aerospace Engineer to support design, analysis, and integration efforts for unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The ideal candidate will bring strong modeling and simulation skills, a practical approach to mechanical integration, and good abstract problem-solving ability. Candidates should be willing to contribute individually and as part of a team across the full development lifecycle. Responsibilities include developing and modifying CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks, performing CFD and flow analysis to support aerodynamic design, managing design files and workflows using Windchill (EPDM), supporting physical assembly, integration, and testing of UAS components and systems, assisting in the creation of documentation, manuals, and technical materials, coordinating with cross-functional teams to support system-level integration, and participating in planning and coordination efforts across multiple projects. Qualifications required are 5+ years of related experience in Aerospace Engineering Aerodynamic Modeling & Simulations, proficiency in SolidWorks and Windchill (EPDM), experience conducting CFD or other aerodynamic flow analysis, mechanical aptitude and willingness to be hands-on with builds and integration, familiarity with 3D printing and additive manufacturing techniques, strong organizational and communication skills, familiarity with composite aerostructures, ability to work independently and self-motivate, and project management or leadership experience. Desired qualifications include experience using Mission Planner for flight configuration and planning, familiarity with Radio Frequency theory, RC pilot experience (fixed wing and multirotor), background or interest in UAVs/UAS, demonstrated skills in RC aircraft build and construction, familiarity with modern RC technologies such as Betaflight, EdgeTX, DJI FPV, INAV, and ExpressLRS, ability to PID tune multirotor aircraft, hobbyist experience with 3D printers, CNC routers, laser cutters, or foam cutters, and experience with small engines, including tuning and adjustment of high/low-speed needle valves.
