• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
• Surgical experience in a tertiary care center
• Skills in Ortho-Trauma, Neuro, General, and Robotics

Description: General information: There are 12 operating rooms with varying hours throughout the day. There are 20 pre-operative bays and 14 PACU bays. Patient types include surgical patients for urology, neuro, ortho, robotic, general, podiatry, and ENT procedures. Pre and post-recovery phases will occur, with some ICU level care needed. The patient ratio in the OR will be 1:1. In pre-operative care, the patient ratio will be 1:2. In PACU Phase I, the ratio will be 1:1 or 1:2 based on patient acuity. In PACU Phase II, the ratio will be 1:2-3. Support on the unit will include surgical staff and anesthesia. Charting will be done using EPIC; approval will be needed if the traveler lacks EPIC experience. Floating may occur as needed in pre-operative and PACU areas. Orientation will cover all specialties and lasts for 1 week. Staff will rotate weekends, and there may be call responsibilities as needed. Holiday expectations will involve working 2 out of 4 major holidays.
