Job Description

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. Their duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damage to inventory. They will also transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations.

Essential Job Functions (Including but not limited to):

• Maintains shipping, receiving, warehousing, and distribution of outgoing shipments and incoming products and raw materials.
  1. Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
  2. Schedules all inbound /outbound freight and small packages.
  3. Physically receives all inbound packages and delivers items to prescribed destinations.
  4. Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
  5. Maintains all documentation for all contract & rental inbound and outbound equipment lists; assures they are accurately filled out. 
  6. Orders shipping supplies.
  7. Packages and crates tools and equipment for shipment.
  8. Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Available for on-call work that arises outside of normal business hours.

Required Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe & similar programs.
• Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts and hand trucks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ambitious and work at a quick pace, but with diligence and attention to detail.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area.
• Ability to work with other team members, highly flexible, "Get it Done" attitude.
• Time management skills, the ability to schedule and prioritize tasks unsupervised.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions & procedures and perform basic math.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. 
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. 
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. 
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

  Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

• This is a full-time, in-person position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.
• Occasional overtime to meet shipping deadlines.

  Work Environment:

• Fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. 
• The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

  Travel:

• No travel is expected for this position.

  Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with shipping software (UPS, FedEx, LTL carriers) and ERP/inventory systems.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

  Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Driver license, or State issued photo ID.
• Successful completion and passing of fit for duty physicals, background checks and drug & alcohol testing programs.

Compensation details: 20-25 Hourly Wage
