Description

The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the entire cabinet manufacturing process-from raw materials to final assembly. This includes oversight of all components such as edge banding, hardware, and finished cabinetry to ensure they consistently meet or exceed quality standards. The Quality Manager leads continuous improvement efforts, develops measurable quality standards, and drives operational excellence through time studies and the development of standard work procedures. This role also plays a key part in supplier quality management-engaging with suppliers to communicate expectations, resolve quality issues, and ensure that incoming materials meet company and customer standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead and manage a team of 10-15 quality personnel, including inspectors, team leads, and engineers.
  • \n
  • Oversee quality control throughout all production stages, including cabinet finishing, assembly, and packaging.
  • \n
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, documentation, and metrics aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • \n
  • Conduct regular inspections and internal audits to identify non-conformities and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • \n
  • Perform time studies and develop standardized work processes to improve consistency and efficiency across production functions.
  • \n
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • \n
  • Support, train, and coach production staff on quality procedures and best practices.
  • \n
  • Monitor and report on key quality indicators, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • \n
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • \n
  • Manage supplier quality by clearly communicating expectations, auditing supplier performance, and resolving quality concerns related to incoming materials.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, including proper material handling and documentation.

Requirements

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • \n
  • Minimum 5 years of quality assurance or operations experience in a manufacturing setting; cabinetry or woodworking experience preferred
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of wood products manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment
  • \n
  • Experience conducting time studies, process mapping, and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • \n
  • Proficient in quality management tools and techniques (e.g., FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Control Plans)
  • \n
  • Effective communicator and leader with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach
  • \n
  • Familiarity with ISO, ANSI/KCMA standards, or similar quality frameworks is a plus
  • \n

  • Certifications such as Six Sigma, ASQ (CQE, CQM), or Lean Manufacturing
  • \n
  • Experience with ERP or MES systems for quality data and process tracking
  • \n
  • Ability to train, coach, and influence cross-functional teams
