Job Description

The Junior Engineer will work closely with designers and other engineers to design, develop and explore new products for the Polaris Industries Inc Marine brands. The Junior Engineer will need to be creative, have a good understanding of best practices, but be curious and inventive to design parts, products and new processes. The ability to think quick on your feet and able to pivot from ideas that don't work to other variations, all while understanding that not every idea is a home run.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Document development of ideas through the exploration and development phase, the goal of the Boats Innovation Group is to fail fast/learn fast and move on. We are not to dictate design, rather more to validate ideas, technologies and processes and present to the Business units so they can then be integrated through the internal engineering department. Some projects will be concept only, while others may continue on through assisting with integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams utilizing internal and external resources to implement projects and ensure goals are being met.
• Supply regular action updates to support business case metrics for each project such as: milestone dates, product launch dates, material cost

Skills & Knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college/university in engineering or related technology degree
• Highly motivated, organized, self-starter, able to execute work from daily schedule
• Ability to work with complex cross-functional teams
• Excellent problem-solving ability and curious as to how things work
• Can learn and apply new information or skills
• Able to diagnose and coordinate repair of electrical issues including sensors, relays, servo systems, motor controls, and PLC's
• Comfortable working with both AC and DC voltages
• CAD Software - SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino 3D
• Experience using common hand tools
• Machine shop experience preferred
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
• The individual must have the ability to adapt and work in an ever-changing environment
• Prior experience in the Marine Industry is a plus but not required
