United States Work Type: Remote Job Description: Eaton's North American Sales Division - Energy Transition is seeking a Federal Business Development Manager to be the primary commercial interface with targeted market partners and key accounts. The role may be remote from North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC. Travel up to 50% is required. Reporting to the VP of Sales - Energy Transition, this role is responsible for developing and managing executive relationships across federal agencies, including DoD, GSA, DOE, and others, where partnerships will enhance Energy infrastructure revenues directly or indirectly in alignment with growth programs and account strategies. This role requires a thorough technical, commercial, and P&L understanding of energy infrastructure, electrical distribution, and grid modernization projects to enable specific partnerships and end customer value propositions. In this role you will: Coach, train, and influence sales specialists and sales engineers responsible for accounts, coordinating across geographies and segments as a central contact point. Manage relationships with customers, partners, and opportunities requiring international coordination and leadership. Originate opportunities and guide the North American sales team to develop and execute sales plans, customer account strategies, and close orders aligning with multi-year growth and profit plans. Lead sales and marketing activities with internal teams and external partners to achieve growth goals. Coordinate front-end sales support activities across business units to improve responsiveness to customers and partners. Identify and manage partner and alliance relationships to meet division growth objectives. Drive cross-division sales activities to package systems and leverage Eaton's product offerings. Develop and maintain relationships with key senior/executive customers to support order closing and sales strategies. Provide input on product and service development considering customer needs and market trends. Participate in marketing activities and trade shows as required. Your Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. Minimum 10+ years of experience in federal business development or sales within the electrical or energy sector. Proven success in winning federal contracts and navigating procurement processes. Deep understanding of federal energy and infrastructure programs. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, if required. This position involves access to export-controlled information under ITAR regulations. Applicants must be U.S. persons or eligible to access such information legally. Eaton will not support employment sponsorship for this role. Preferred Qualifications include a Master's degree or MBA, experience with DoD energy resilience programs, GSA schedules, or DOE initiatives, familiarity with federal sustainability goals, and PMP certification. Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholders. Excellent presentation skills for technical and executive audiences. The salary range for this role is approximately $141,000 to $207,000 annually, plus potential incentives.
