We seek an experienced Instructional/Multimedia Developer to join our innovative digital learning design team in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area.

Overview:
The Instructional/Multimedia Developer will join the dynamic and creative training team to support the local Instructor Team at the National Security Space Institute within the United States Space Force. This position will be integral in enhancing, bolstering, and polishing learning content for a vital national security customer. In this production-focused role, you will be working to engage users of the learning management system, unique learning curriculum, and innovative educational tools by introducing complex concepts in an enticing, engaging, and entertaining manner.

Duties include:

1. Maintaining existing classroom and multimedia courses and managing annual reviews to keep all lessons up-to-date
2. Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), developing lessons using the Instructional Systems Design Process (ISD) for all course formats
3. Assist SMEs in writing, editing, and organizing content to fit the target audience and student educational levels for adult learners
4. Ensures technical solutions are compatible with appropriate andragogical approaches for both in-resident and online learning
5. Serves as an educational consultant for instructors
6. Engage with instructors and students to create a dynamic, aspirational, and innovative culture, a professional learning community grounded in collaboration, focused on improving learning outcomes, and driven by data-informed decision-making
7. Lead and support a culture of innovation
8. Evaluate and implement improvements in the digital learning strategy
9. Research the latest digital tools and interactive media trends
10. Analyze customer and user data and develop a responsive strategy based on results
11. Assist instructors in the development and delivery of practical and innovative learning lessons and delivery formats
12. Assist in the facilitation, development, and support of digital learning strategies in the classroom
13. Utilize Adult Learning Theory to motivate adult learners to improve professional practice

• Experience and Skills

  1. 3+ years in eLearning/curriculum development in a rapid development environment
  2. A Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Technology, Psychology, or a related field
  3. Advanced to Expert proficiency level of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Animate, After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Audition) is required in addition to experience in one or more of the following software, including Articulate 360, Camtasia 9, Audacity,
  4. Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), including SCORM/xAPI/API-compliant distribution
  5. Excellent grasp of adult learning theory and educational models
  6. A solid understanding of video and audio editing techniques, including animation, graphic design, and speech manipulation
  7. Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills to assist SMEs with writing, editing, organizing, and managing lesson content
  8. Exceptional ability to handle multiple projects without sacrificing a detail-driven approach
  9. Ability to work independently, maintain rigorous production schedules, allocate production efforts across multiple projects, and provide clear task status to leadership
  10. International/Domestic Travel may be required - less than 10%

  1. Firm grasp and desire to learn emerging digital learning tools
  2. Ability to work collaboratively with a team of learning developers and faculty
  3. Models continual improvement and demonstrates lifelong learning
  4. Prior experience teaching is a plus!
  5. Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Technology, Psychology, Media Production, or a related field
  6. Experience working with the Department of Defense
  7. Proficiency in building and maintaining good working relationships with subject matter experts
  8. Understanding of web analytics and the implications for student learning
  9. Possess broad knowledge of best digital practices
