1 tablespoon ground or whole linseeds, or chia seeds
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg, optional
¼ cup raisins
½ cup grated carrot - approx 1½ small carrots
1¼ cups of your choice of milk
¼ cup walnuts, or other choice of nuts
2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey
your choice of yoghurt, to serve, optional
pumpkin or sunflower seeds, to serve, optional
Instructions
Place oats, linseeds, spices, raisins, carrot and milk (or milk/yoghurt mix) in a bowl and stir to combine.
Cover and set aside for at least 30 minutes, or preferably overnight in the fridge.
(Note: For bircher muesli on-the-go, after mixing ingredients together, transfer into 2 jars or re-usable glass containers and place toppings on ready to quickly grab out of the fridge the next morning and go)
Serve into bowls and top with walnuts, then drizzle with honey or maple syrup.
Add yoghurt, fruit or seeds as desired
